Casa San Blas Boutique Hotel

We loved our four nights at Casa San Blas in late November 2025. The room was cozy and very clean, though a bit cramped, with barely any room to set our bags down. Breakfast was lovely, and the older woman serving it gave great service. The hotel sits in the lively San Blas area, near the center and museums. Reception has an oxygen mask and can check your oxygen level, then give you 10 minutes of oxygen if needed. At night, they bring a flask of hot water for your feet, which was a lovely touch. One suggestion: the lights outside guest rooms are too bright.

The staff were a huge help, from suggesting restaurants to arranging a half-day Cusco tour. Their local advice was especially useful as we got ready for our four-day Salkantay Trek. Breakfast was also a real treat, with fresh local fruit, eggs made to order, and plenty of meat and cheese. After the trek, we liked it enough to come back for another night and try dinner. The meal was surprisingly good and very reasonably priced. Casa San Blas is tucked away from the main road, so even though it’s close to San Blas and Plaza de Armas, it felt peaceful and cozy. The hotel has a relaxed, comfortable feel, and the staff went far beyond what we expected. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to friends and family.

The staff here gave five-star service, and the location is great, but the rooms felt like a two-star hotel at best. We booked the matrimonial suite, which was right by the lobby and hallway. With tours leaving around 3 am, we heard people coming and going all night. The bed was okay, the room was small with no air-conditioning, and the bathroom had no ventilation, so everything got damp after a shower. The door lock kept failing and locked us in and out repeatedly. Even the staff had trouble with it. The restaurant was supposedly open, but when we wanted dinner it would only serve soup. We just ate at a nearby place, though the refusal was odd. They did provide small shampoo and conditioner and a bar of soap. The staff packed takeaway breakfast, and we used the oxygen several times. Mikeal was friendly each time, and I liked the little dream catcher on my pillow. I wish I could say we loved it, but we started reviewing to give honest feedback. I’d stay somewhere else next time.

The front desk is staffed 24 hours, so someone was always around to help. I don’t speak Spanish, and the staff helped with my questions and called to sort out a few reservations. I wish I’d gotten everyone’s names, but they were all welcoming and helpful. I hope management recognizes the positivity they bring. The service and location made this hotel incredible for us. We stayed two nights before the Inka Trail, then came back for another night.
