Casa Tunki - Hostel

I booked this hostel for my group of 12 because of the reviews. The rooms aren't quiet, but they were comfortable, and the restaurant and coworking areas were great. Service was exceptional. Giovanni was especially helpful with moving luggage and making sure I had the whole dorm for my group. They even let other people in our party wait with their bags for our transport van, though they weren't guests. Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating, and the free breakfast was good. It was much better than what I think of as a hostel, and the rooms were definitely cleaned between guests. The shared co-ed dorm bathrooms weren't great, though, with nowhere to change.

The building is beautiful and has a really chill feel. Breakfast is included and great, and the bar and reception staff were super friendly and helpful. In the 12-bed dorm, the capsule setup made for one of my best hostel sleeping experiences: giant beds, good equipment, and plenty of room to store luggage. When I came back, I stayed in a different room with more corners and less air, but it was still very good. It seemed less social than other hostels for backpackers, though that may just have been the timing of my stay. I'd definitely recommend it.

We didn't stay at the hotel, just came in for breakfast, but Casa Tunki made a lovely impression. The coffee was excellent, and breakfast was tasty and clearly made with care. Staff were friendly and welcoming, too. There's a good setup for sitting with a laptop: tables along the walls have power outlets, so it was easy to work over coffee. The atmosphere felt modern but warm, with a lovely, naturally lit central courtyard. I also liked the distinctive mix of clean lines and vintage, antique tech details. Even if you're not staying here, it's worth dropping in for breakfast or a relaxed morning coffee.

I spent four nights at Casa Tunki and would definitely come back. The beds were comfy, and there were really nice coworking areas where I just read. The place itself was lovely, and the included breakfast was amazing, which matters a lot to me. Big shoutout to Giovanni, who was super nice and helpful!
