The location is the one good thing here, and it feels like they know people will stay because it's close to town, regardless of how they treat guests. Maybe NYE had something to do with it, but during our 3-day stay we had to ask five times before we got a towel on the third day. The shower was FREEEEZZZZING. The guy kept insisting it worked while other guests were checking in, then couldn't get it going when I brought him to our room. We didn't end up needing those towels, since we went without a shower for all 3 days 😥. There was drinking and noise every night, including after NYE. I couldn't tell whether it was guests or the family who live there, but there was also a baby awake at all hours, even around 6-7am. They started banging around early with the kid, so expect to be kept up and woken early. I hope this helps someone avoid a bad stay.

It's a pretty colorful hotel/hostel, though getting up there is quite a climb. Just be aware that the showers may be pretty bad.

The location is good and the place has been renovated recently, but don't let a fresh coat of paint fool you. The owners seemed to run things without much care or enthusiasm. At breakfast, it wasn't clear whether we should serve ourselves or wait for them to make something. We got eggs on the first day, then none the next. Cleanliness was poor: the towels and bedspread had stains, the bathroom felt unsanitary, and the hot water barely worked. The owner's irritatingly inept attitude was the worst part. I strongly suggest he find another line of work.
