The room we got hadn't been cleaned or tidied, and the toilet was broken. It also wasn't the room we had booked. The manager was rude, then they charged us more than the regular price and told us to leave the hotel.

The people at CASA DORADA were friendly, and I had a really comfortable stay. They picked me up from the Cusco Airport and kept in touch on wattsapp the whole time, giving me directions and guidance. Thank you, good job, guys.

The taxi ride to the city center takes around 5 to 8 minutes, and everything is close by in a great area. Mrs. Manuela was warm, attentive, and full of personality, always ready to help. Breakfasts were delicious and generous. We're very happy with our stay!

The drive back was the worst part. Although we had booked private transport through Casa Dorada Tours as part of our package, we ended up in a shared minibus with a reckless driver called Brando. He overtook on a solid line without being able to see ahead, then swerved back when traffic came toward us. There were 19 people at risk, including one extra passenger sitting on the floor because the minibus was full. The guide, subcontracted by the company, also gave wrong information and missed many details, though this wasn't my first visit to Machu Picchu. Booking the tour with Manuela was a bit of a nightmare, even though we did get to go on the day we wanted. I wouldn't book with them again.

Manuela knows Cusco and its stories inside out, and she's an excellent tour guide. Her hospitality feels warm and genuine from the start, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is ideal too. I'd definitely recommend this place and its host. 👌🏼
