Hostal Conde Meloc

We paid 30 soles for a bed in the 6 bed dorm. The ensuite bathroom had an amazing shower pressure, and the breakfast room upstairs had good views. Breakfast was the usual hostel fare, puffed wheat and bread with jam. Staff were nice, though they didn’t speak much English. Very clean and conveniently across from a supermarket. If you want somewhere quiet to rest after a trek, this works. For partying, Loki is only two minutes up the street.

Really clean, with great WiFi and hot showers. The staff were very friendly too.

We were robbed inside our locked room, and when we complained, the staff didn’t care at all. We weren’t the only ones. The owner said they weren’t responsible for anything, probably because she was involved. This happened on the very last day of our stay. The service was awful, and they charge like it’s a good place but provide no towels or toilet paper, don’t clean, and serve stale bread and coffee for breakfast. It’s a tourist rip-off, and the service leaves a lot to be desired.

A disgrace, and theft. The hotel isn’t really called that, it’s actually hotel Carmen boutique, and it isn’t at the right address. Booking.com reservations are added on top of bookings made by phone, so people who reserved can arrive and find no room. The receptionist also used a completely wrong exchange rate. They use their own rate. If you want a good stay, avoid this so-called hotel!
