I liked staying a little beyond the main tourist area, in a neighborhood that felt more authentic. Maggie was a wonderful host, checking in regularly to see how things were going and whether I needed anything. They kept my bags while I went hiking for 4 days and helped sort out my laundry, which was just what I needed. One thing to know if you're a light sleeper: guests heading out on early excursions can make some noise. It was a peaceful, excellent stay at La Posada de Atahualpa.

Maggie at the front desk really cared about making us comfortable and was quick to respond whenever we needed help. She went out of her way to assist us with everything. Her service was wonderful, and she has a lovely personality.

The rooms were really cozy, with carpet that was nice in the cold weather and a single duvet instead of four blankets. We were unwell, so the big TV with all the apps was a bonus. Breakfast and the location were great, too. My only suggestion is that staff keep their voices and music down in the kitchen when the doors are open. I woke up a few times around 7am because of the noise. Many thanks!

The rooms were basic, but spotless and tidy. Staff seemed to care about the place, always wiping the banisters, dusting or straightening things up. The main foyer has a lovely central spot to sit for breakfast or read and relax. Everyone was friendly throughout our stay. I'd recommend it!
