Inka Wild Hostel

This was the best hostel I stayed in across South America. The staff were super friendly, the walking tour was great, drinks were cheap, and there was an excellent food selection, especially for vegetarians. The location was perfect. It’s definitely a party hostel, but staying there before a trek was fine. Showers are mostly hot, though the water tends to turn cold after a few minutes. They also have free coca tea!

There’s a good atmosphere here, with a great bar, ping pong, and a snooker table. We had a private room for a couple, but it was tiny and felt claustrophobic without a window. The bathroom was tiny too. Couples might want to stay at a nearby hostel and come here to use the facilities, which is possible.

The bar and spacious living area were highlights, and our room was clean and tidy. If you need a full night’s sleep, the bar makes this hostel a poor choice. For enjoying the nightlife, though, it’s perfect.

We were already disappointed by our private double room. It was very small, cold, and had no windows. Then we discovered that 40 dollar had been taken from a hidden pouch in our backpack. When we told the hostel, they basically said we must be mistaken because they had ‘very trustworthy personnel’. Watch out for stealing personnel. There are plenty of nice, safe places to stay in Cusco, so book somewhere else.
