If cleanliness matters to you, I wouldn’t stay here. The reviews on this site and Hostelworld gave me the wrong impression. We booked the “4 girl dorm,” but were put in a room with one queen bed and one bunk bed. There was a dead bug on our bed. I checked the whole mattress, which looked very new and clean, and didn’t find anything else wrong with the sheets, so we stayed rather than lose the money we’d paid. I had to share a bed with my friend because the other comforters had obvious dark and light stains. The bathroom and shower were the worst part. There was so much mold in the shower that I barely wanted to go in to use the toilet or brush my teeth. The whole place felt damp and smelled of mildew.

This was my first stop in Peru, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The staff were so helpful and gave me great pointers for Cusco and the surrounding area, and they even offered great tours. Thanks VIP. P.S. Roderigo is my Peruvian best friend 😀

The beds were really comfy, with curtains and a little lamp, and breakfast was especially good for the price. They had tea and coffee out all day, too. The staff were lovely, and the hostel is right across from a supermarket. The common room felt a bit chilly, and it wasn't especially social, though the pisco sour class made up for that. I really enjoyed my stay at VIP Hostel.

The staff were friendly and let us leave our bags here for a week. Cooking facilities are basic, but they cover what you need. It's a cheap hostel in a great location, so you get what you pay for. The whole place was cold, though they did provide plenty of blankets for the beds.

The staff are the reason I'd come back. They remembered our names, stored our bags, helped us print things, and were always there when we needed last-minute help. The rooms were very clean, breakfast was amazing, and the location was great. Best hostel to stay in Cusco!
