There was a musty smell in the bathroom, which was the one real downside. I only noticed it in there, so I kept the door closed and burned incense once a day. That helped quite a bit. It seems like a problem in Cusco generally, especially in bathrooms without windows. I'd hope the staff could use white vinegar on the loft and walls whenever the mold comes back. I've smelled the same thing in bathrooms at more expensive Cusco hotels too. Otherwise, I had a lovely stay for a fair price and would choose it again. The hotel is in a great neighborhood, away from noise, and felt private and peaceful day and night. Birds sang in the yard. My room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, with a nice bed, a proper duvet, and soft white natural-fabric sheets and towels that had no smell, which was ideal for someone sensitive like me. They had natural organic soap with a light scent. The staff were so kind and brought hot water bottles to warm the bed, plus there was a small radiator for the room and for drying wet clothes. Breakfast was simple, with a few choices. For hot shower water, I just had to wait about four minutes. They also offer massages.
