Palacio del Inka, A Luxury Collection Hotel by Marriott

Wadir and Elmer from the concierge and baggage team were wonderful, always greeting us by name. Jonathan from housekeeping also greeted me each morning. When he learned I'd been ill, he checked in with real concern every day and wished me well when we left. We had a lovely stay at Palacio del Inca in Cusco. The service felt personal, breakfast was tasty with plenty of variety, and the rooms were comfortable and spacious.

The location is really convenient, and I'd happily stay here again. It's a historic building, and the imperial suites are tastefully decorated with good amenities. The rooms aren't huge, but there's enough space and a fair bit of storage. Check-in was smooth and welcoming. The spa is well equipped and the thermal suite was very relaxing. There's also a very cute baby alpaca living in the courtyard. Breakfast has a decent range, though the service was generally just okay and could be more attentive, especially for an early breakfast.

The hotel history drew me in, and I ended up loving the tour, pisco class and Inca music performance they offer. The spa and restaurant were lovely, and their baby alpaca is available for photos. When I came down with altitude sickness in the middle of the night, staff had oxygen ready and brought me water and tea. Amex FHR also got me an upgrade to a suite. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, and I highly recommend it.

The original Inca stonework, including the 8-angle stone, gives Palacio del Inka the feeling of staying inside history. We loved the hotel tour with Ruth, who shared lots of interesting information. A performer from Cusco in traditional Inca clothing played Peruvian instruments live, which was beautiful and memorable. The pisco sour class with Rodrigo at the bar was fun, and we stayed on for dinner and music. Our room had lovely paintings, beautiful decor, a comfortable feel and an amazing balcony view. The spa was relaxing, and the massage was incredible. Claudia, the spa attendant, was so helpful and made sure we had what we needed. Breakfast had a delicious range of options too. We felt welcome from the start. Paola made check-in warm and easy, Lydia arranged the spa without any stress, and Josvien helped with our bags and remembered our last name. The hotel is beautiful, the staff were wonderful, and we left very happy. We'd absolutely come back.
