When I need somewhere at short notice, AKU is my usual hotel choice. It generally costs $40 - $50 a night, which feels like a huge bargain next to U.S. hotel prices. Once you're in-country, finding a good-sized, cheaper Airbnb is of course worth considering. The staff here are really helpful, and they'll store your bags for free if you arrive too early to check in, so you can explore San Isidro without hauling them around. Rooms are spacious, the air conditioning cools things down in minutes, and the mini fridge is fine for water, leftovers, or beer. The shower feels like heaven on a hot summer day, and the hotel is centrally located near some great cafes and restaurants. A similar hotel in the U.S. might cost around $250 a night.

The staff were helpful, but the suite with balcony and bathtub didn't impress me, especially for what I paid. It needs a lot more maintenance and cleaning, and the breakfast buffet could improve a lot. The balcony sunbeds were dirty, and there's no shade during the day. Next time I visit the city, I'd pick central Miraflores, though that may just be my preference.

I arrived on 2/21/26 for a 2 week stay, but the rude receptionist wouldn't let me see the room before booking. I left and went to another hotel. Good luck employing her, she's sending customers elsewhere. 🤡

The location was excellent, and the receptionists were very helpful. I found the room less impressive. The bed was comfortable, but the electrical setup wouldn't let us plug in our chargers. There were no slippers, and the towels were very old.

The park is very close, and the location is good, but the noise was loud, especially on the 2nd floor. I couldn't sleep well because of footsteps, card swiping, conversations, and other sounds. The hotel was full, so I couldn't switch to an upper floor. The AC was noisy too. I called the front desk again, and another gentleman answered, very nicely and politely. I was finally moved to a room that was good.
