Casa Mediterranea Mancora

The location and exterior are excellent, but for what a night costs, the room cleanliness was disappointing. I asked several times for the refrigerator to be cleaned, but it never was. The sheets and pillowcases were dirty too. There doesn't seem to be a hotel manager, and the receptionist didn't resolve anything. They don't even have a complaints book. I'm really disappointed.

The beachside location is nice, and the rooms are decent, but the service really needs work. I paid quite a bit for laundry and got wet clothes back. Breakfast was two oily, gross eggs and a white bun I couldn't even eat. They could do much better. It's embarrassing that this is what they serve.

We spent two days in Room 14, on the first floor, with a lovely view of the sea and palm trees. The room was spacious and quiet, and the manager spoke very good English. Wifi was so-so in the room but worked well on the front terrace, so it wasn't a problem. Breakfast was good, and the main shops are a 5-10 minute walk away. From the terrace we watched kite surfers where the beach and waves reach the hotel's walls. On our last evening, a very friendly guy made us tuna ceviche and a mojito classico. So much of Mancora seemed overpriced or poor quality, but this place got the price and quality right. Recommended.

The kitchen made good food, and the place itself is really nice. There was construction next door and noise near our room, so the manager / owner moved us to a larger room farther away without us even asking. Highly recommend!
