What stood out most was the hospitality. Ms Jessica /Yessica was always kind, attentive, and smiling. When my wife and I felt the effects of the altitude, she brought us Coco tea and Muna tea. Mr Alberto, who is usually there at night, even served me hot coffee at 4 a.m. once. The hotel is only about 100 Mtrs from the main square, which makes tour pickups convenient. The rooms are decent, though I’d give them three stars and the hospitality five. This isn’t really a typical 3-star hotel, but given Cusco and the overall conditions, it’s a reasonable place to consider. We were usually out early and back late, so for sleeping and showering it worked well. One issue was the hot water: in a cold place like Cusco, I expected at least warm showers, but sometimes we waited half an hour. The staff did make sure we got hot water and called to check. If you mainly need somewhere to spend the night, I’d recommend it.

The staff really went out of their way. We slept through the scheduled breakfast one morning, and they called our room to ask if we wanted them to bring it up. The hotel is in a characterful old building, in a handy location, and it’s good value. The bed and pillows were terrific. The bathroom was adequate, though the room lighting could be brighter. Breakfast was fresh eggs and bread, and the coffee was okay. A little heater did a good job warming the large room at night.

The staff were quite nice, but the guest policy and room setup were awful. I was given a room next to the lobby, where you could hear everything. Its window faced the lobby too, so there was no way to get fresh air. Guests you bring are only allowed to sit in the lobby, not come up to your room. I paid for the hotel and I’m a grown man; I should be able to have whoever I want visit.

The front desk staff were nice, and the location is convenient, right by Plaza de Armas. Our room was spacious, but ventilation was poor. There was no sound insulation in the windows or ceiling, and we woke up at 5 a.m. every morning because we could hear people upstairs packing their bags.

For the price, it’s hard to find a better place. The interior is amazing, the location is great, and our host Yeshika was so kind and sweet.
