Total relaxation, with full dunes.

I stayed in a tent for two nights and had a great time. It’s a little outside the city, which makes it feel like a getaway, but getting there is easy. Lucio was a very friendly host. There are lovely views, a pool, bathrooms, and a kitchen. The place has a pleasant mix of rustic charm and modern amenities.

The setting is what makes this campsite special: it’s on a wide open area at the foot of a huge dune, with a wonderful stretch of dunes close by. If you haven’t seen desert like this before, the view will leave you open-mouthed. You can bring your own tent or stay in a room. The place has a pristine, unique atmosphere, plus a pool, horse stables, bar, kitchen, and bathrooms, all in good condition. Lucio, the owner, is attentive and tries to make sure everyone is comfortable. The volunteers who help him, Genesis, Bryan, and Sabrina, also make the stay feel authentic and help you enjoy each day. We climbed the dunes with them and went sliding and sandboarding on boards rented at the campsite. It was one of my best activities in Peru. I definitely recommend it for the people who run it and the landscape’s unique, almost mystical feel.

I camped here with my family in March 2019. It’s a fantastic place, and the people looking after guests were so upbeat and welcoming. I wish we’d had more time to enjoy the natural beauty around us. They let us use the sandboards at no extra charge.
