Arriving in Ilo for the first time was already a big deal for me, and I was really disappointed to find out at check-in that payment had to be in cash. I’d booked the room from home, but that requirement hadn’t been mentioned beforehand. ☹️

The roof was a lovely spot to watch the sunset, and town was within walking distance. Breakfast was some of the best I had in Peru, and the ladies serving it were great. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, too. The hotel was clean, with good Wi-Fi, hot showers, and private parking. Prices were very good for the area.

Breakfast was disappointing, just one piece of bread per guest. The hotel itself is simple, cheap, and clean, but nights could get noisy with electronic music and lots of loud roosters nearby.

The private parking was handy, and the rooms were fine for the price. Breakfast was just a cup of coffee and a piece of bread, so make other plans if you want more.

Getting to a restaurant takes a bit of a trek. Otherwise, it’s a very nice place. My only complaint is that there’s no AC.
