The communal area was one of my favorite parts of Amak. It felt warm and inviting, and sharing it with other guests was a highlight. The meals were delicious and generous, and the guides were kind and knew their stuff. The activities were engaging too. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the setting was beautiful. At night, we fell asleep to birds and other wildlife, which felt like being fully immersed in nature. Everyone was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. One thing I'd add is a marked outdoor trail around the lodge, so guests could walk at their own pace. I highly recommend Amak. It was an unforgettable stay!

The food was the best we've had in a long time, and our accommodation was perfect. We felt safe and well looked after. Carlos made all our trips memorable. My partner and I had an amazing time at Amak and would definitely recommend it. We hope to come back one day!

Amak's included tours were very good, and the food was excellent, compliments to the Panamanian chef. Every staff member gave excellent service and attention. The main issue for me was a 5% surcharge on credit card payments that wasn't disclosed when booking. The lodge is in the Amazon rainforest, about an hour by boat along the Amazon river from Iquitos, Peru. Individual cabins are spread around the property, with a main communal area for arriving, relaxing, and eating. Since it's in the jungle, electricity in that main area is available only during the three meal times.

Carlos was an incredible guide. After so many years living in the jungle, he knows a huge amount about the Amazon, medicinal plants, villages, and indigenous ways of life. We had a blast piranha fishing with him, and loved him as our guide. Victor, the manager, was just as wonderful, making sure every detail was handled and taking such kind, attentive care of us. Leo gave superb, pleasant, attentive service as our waiter. And the food! Gerty's flavors, presentation, and variety made every meal something we looked forward to. It truly felt like five-star dining. The cabins were lovely, quaint, peaceful, and had showers. The lodge itself is beautiful. Our time at Amak in the Amazon was an incredible experience, and we'd highly recommend it.

Carlos guided us each day, and I can't say enough about how much we loved him. His knowledge is incredible, and I learned a lot. The private cabins are tucked into the jungle. They're basic, but have everything you need, and I'm already missing those lovely jungle sounds. From when we first arrived, Victor made sure we were happy, and Leo, Gerty, and Victor all treated us so well. Gerty's food was delicious, from the presentation to the taste, and could rival a high-class restaurant. We looked forward to every meal. It was an amazing jungle adventure and an incredible experience. Highly recommend!
