The pool was spotless and a great way to cool off after dealing with the city’s dust and grime. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and our room was clean and quiet, away from the busy street. It was pretty much what I expected, and about as good as you can hope for in Iquitos. It’s no Marriott, so don’t expect a five-star hotel just because I gave it five stars. Come with reasonable expectations and you’ll be very pleased.

There’s real potential here, but the condition of the hotel during our November visit was disappointing. The beds and non-HD TV felt dated, and the pool area wasn’t well maintained. Even the lobby was uncomfortable, with no air conditioning and a very old fan that barely seemed useful. The staff also seemed idle when we were there. Two people sat at the counter while the lobby plants were drying up and paint cans were scattered around. It’s a shame, because the place could be much better with some care. If I owned it, I’d seriously reconsider staying in the hotel business.

We came for a family reunion, but the breakfast was poor quality and there was hardly anything to choose from. When we asked about dinner, they said they had a reception and couldn’t prepare anything for us. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
