El Dorado Classic Hotel

The staff were friendly and the service was good, and the king rooms had lots of space. But on both of my stays, in two different rooms, the rooms were very dirty and hadn't been properly cleaned. I had to ask housekeeping to deal with the toilet both times because there was xxxx in it. The rooms also felt very old and dusty, despite the fairly central location.

The free breakfast was really good, and the staff were lovely. I was heading into the jungle and didn't want to bring all my luggage, so they kindly stored it for a few days at no charge. A really nice stay.

I had a good WiFi connection, and breakfast, though basic, was still appreciated. The staff were so helpful and friendly that I can't fault them. I can see why some people mention noise, simple breakfasts, or room problems, but the rooms I had before and after my retreat were fine. They had soap and shampoo, hot water, clean towels and bedding. One had no window, which didn't bother me. After a retreat in the middle of the jungle, a basic hotel stay was fine by me, and I'd be okay returning. Thank you 🙂👍🙏

The food was amazing, and the hotel had good AC, a pool, and a good breakfast. But one short receptionist with glasses ruined the experience for us. We asked the front desk to call a taxi, and he took 60 sols from us before we even got in. The driver later said the fare was only 40 sols, and the taxi took 20 minutes to arrive. If you see that receptionist, report him. I wouldn't recommend the hotel to anyone while he's still there.
