The island is so quiet, and the grounds are kept beautifully. I stumbled on this place almost by accident, and I'm really glad I did. The staff are wonderful and the service is excellent. After a day of little hikes, kayaking, or spotting llamas and vicuñas, it’s lovely to come back to a lit fireplace in the room and a hot water bottle in bed. It’s also a great place to read, write, or meditate. I can imagine it being incredibly romantic with a lover, too. I’d return in a heartbeat.

The garden was the highlight for me, a lovely place to unwind. The rooms are cosy, the food is very good, and the hotel has a charming, bucolic feel on its private island. A couple of things could be better: for an ecolodge, they still provide plastic water bottles, and the boat arrival area could use a bit of cleaning.

I became ill during my stay, and the host took me safely to a hospital in Juliaca. They didn't charge me for any of the time I spent at the hotel. The host was the best, and I’ll definitely come back.
