Bayview Hotel

The area is superb, and the prices are fair, under three digits. It’s an especially good value if you’re nearby and just need a place to spend some energy with someone. The building is quite old, but the rooms and shared areas are well maintained. You can’t go wrong with this option.

We left without staying. We’d booked through the website shown on Google Maps, but the receptionist said she’d never heard of it. She was extremely unhelpful and bitchy, and acted as if she didn’t understand English. The little we saw also looked much more dated than the photos. Wouldn’t recommend.

Be careful, this place seems to be operating as an Airbnb scam. We booked online, but when we arrived the guardian said the hotel wasn’t operating, and there were lots of people waiting at the door.

We only stayed because we arrived late, around 9 pm, and had an airport pickup at 3 am. If we'd been spending more days in Lima, I would have left as soon as I saw the room. It was old, and at least the linens looked “clean.” The place looked nothing like the photos, with worn out interiors and dirty hallway carpets. Maybe Friday made it worse, but it was extremely noisy. I think there was a bachelor party in a downstairs room, and there were lots of girls in underwear in the halls. It was a horrible experience. There’s no elevator either, so we carried all our luggage up three floors. We booked a van to collect us at 3 am, but they sent a car and still charged us for a van. If you can, don’t stay in this hole.
