Embajadores Hotel

The breakfast buffet was the best part, far better than others I've had in hotels and hostels in Peru. The yucca fries were amazing. After I complained to the concierge that the facilities we'd been promised weren't available, she upgraded our room at no charge. It had a bathtub we could use instead of the jacuzzi. The place didn't match its pictures. The pool was tiny, the jacuzzi wasn't working at the time, and laundry service wasn't available because it was New Year's. There were holes and stains in our room's carpet, and the complimentary pisco sours were literally just a shot glass full. We'd paid quite a bit, especially by Peru standards, hoping for a nice New Year's with my partner. It was okay in the end, maybe around Best Western quality, so don't expect too much beyond that.

They even put together a basic packed breakfast, coffee and a sandwich, for my 4 a.m. departure on a Huacachina oasis tour. The hotel is fairly central in Miraflores, near the beach, downtown, and local amenities. I spent a couple of nights there while returning to Lima from my Machu Pichu trek and visits to Cusco Rainbow mountain. There's a 24-hour reception desk, a small restaurant serving breakfast and lunch, and a small bar. The hotel also has a pool and sauna on the top floor, but I didn't have time to check them out, so I can't comment on those.

A little gem in Miraflores. The atmosphere and service make you feel like a king, and the employees are always around to help.

We got there at 2 a.m. and had no choice but to stay the first night because it was so late. We left first thing in the morning. This hotel was awful, run away from it. The room and facilities were dirty and nothing like the photos. Dust, dirt, and hair turned my two-year-old's hands, feet, and knees black, and did the same to my feet. The room was dark and outdated, and the walls and carpet were completely different colors. The pool was a joke, and the gym wasn't even open. It only had one machine anyway. The room smelled like mold. The sheets smelled like dirty, greasy hair, and there was both male and female hair in the bed. In the bathroom, we found a dirty, used shaving razor. Breakfast was nasty, and the staff were very rude to us. Especially during a pandemic, they shouldn't be selling such a dirty room to people who paid a lot of money. This place should be shut down.
