Hostal Patiño

The rooms felt damp and had no ventilation. There was even a nest of point behind ours. I wouldn't stay again. I'd rather pay more to be near Centro or Miraflores.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the prices are among the best in the area. Staff were friendly too, and let me leave my luggage after checkout. There is a little restaurant on the ground floor that can bring food to your room if you don't feel like going out. I liked being able to sit on the small terrace overlooking the park, with a snack or drink of my own. The hostel is right across from the park, where there are regular security patrols, and a market with just about everything is a five-minute walk away. You can get an inexpensive lunch there. Buses heading toward southern and central Lima are close by as well. It was a really pleasant stay, and I hope I can come back soon.

The room was on the small side, and I mentioned a few minor things that could be improved to the receptionist. The room and restaurant service were good, though, and the terrace has a view of the park across the street. The location was fantastic, and the service was outstanding. If I'm back in Lima, I'd definitely stay here again.

The rooms aren't big, but the kind, understanding receptionist and owner make up for that. They made the stay comfortable and enjoyable. Prices are reasonable for this area, and I'd recommend it for families.
