The art is a big part of the experience here. Paintings and sculptures by local artists from across the last century are displayed throughout the hotel, which feels like a gallery. The building dates to 1914, when it was built as a summer home, and has been carefully renovated. It’s a stylish luxury hotel in Barranco, with local crafts, food, and art all within walking distance. Rooms are comfortable and keep their original character. Breakfast has a generous buffet as well as à la carte choices, including Peruvian eggs. Dinner covers Peruvian classics, and the bar makes a proper pisco sour.

We only stopped by the bar one evening, and the drinks and food felt too expensive for what we got. It was a very quiet night, with just the two of us there, so that may have affected the atmosphere. Still, the place has real potential for a great vibe. The building has a beautiful turn-of-the-century feel, with striking art in the bar and throughout the nearby rooms and hallways. There’s also a lovely gift shop selling authentic Peruvian memorabilia and art. Next to it, several gallery rooms had a contemporary art exhibit during our visit, free to look around. Looking back, the low rating may be a little unfair since our disappointment was really about the prices, not the atmosphere or the concept.

The rooms were spacious and thoughtfully furnished, and we loved wandering through the building to see its extensive art collection. The staff were gracious, and the food was delicious, especially the Andean eggs. This hotel is a gem, blending modern touches with historic character. It added to our vacation in every way, and we highly recommend it. Everything felt right on point.

Good food and drinks, with friendly service. A nice, fancy spot for Sunday morning brunch, in a good location near the bohemian center of Barranco. I'll definitely come back.
