ibis Budget Lima Miraflores

I spend most of my time out when I’m here, so the small room doesn’t bother me. It’s still comfortable, clean, and quiet. I often pick this Ibis in Miraflores when I’m in the country for work or to see friends.

The room was small but cozy, and it was basic and clean. There’s no microwave, safe, fridge, or coffee maker, though you can ask the front desk for an electric kettle or hair dryer. The location is great, just a couple of blocks from Larco and Benavides.

The neighborhood is amazing for walking, and the cleaners were especially friendly. The staff overall were nice, though the front desk seemed understaffed for how busy it was. I didn’t mind the room size, but having no tea or coffee setup or bar fridge was really annoying and disappointing for a South American hotel. My bed smelled of sweat, and a fan buzzed all night. I couldn’t tell where the noise came from, maybe an exhaust fan. This was booked as part of a tour, so I hadn’t chosen it. For the price, I think you can find better value elsewhere.

We’d stayed here before, and I didn’t expect much in the way of service. But landslides blocked access to Arequipa and derailed our plans, so we had to travel back from Ica overnight with my exhausted young daughter. The hotel said rooms were available early, yet wouldn’t let us check in. She ended up sleeping in a corner of the tiny lobby. They could have made things easier in our circumstances, but showed no empathy or compassion. I’d planned to eat here; now I won’t spend another cent. Please train the staff in customer service.
