The rooms are roomy and excellent, and I liked the hotel. But noise kept it from being a five star stay. For some reason I could hear all the traffic from my fifth-floor room throughout the night.

I've never seen a hotel desk clerk call a taxi by just raising his hand on the street instead of calling a radio taxi. The driver then charged me what seemed like an expensive fare, with the dollar rate higher than average. If you understand how things work in Peru or speak Spanish, that may be fine, but I can't recommend it if you don't.

San Blas has a lovely neighborhood, and it was easy to walk to parks, shops, museums, and restaurants. The place was clean and comfortable, but the staff were the best part. They were friendly and went out of their way to help with everything. Thank you!

It was a cool, quiet place, and the meals were delicious. There isn't a swimming pool, though.
