ibis Styles Lima Benavides Miraflores Hotel

The room was spacious and clean, with warm water, good pressure, a roomy shower, and cable TV. It faced the street, though, and wasn’t very soundproof, so we could still hear traffic late in the evening. When we got back to Ibis Styles Lima Miraflores, our room wasn’t ready. We used our welcome drinks while we waited and were pleasantly surprised that cocktails were included. The Pisco Sour and Chilcano were both pretty delicious. At first, the staff offered us a room without A/C, which we declined, so we had to wait until 2:30 p.m. The room we eventually got had working A/C, which we really needed to regulate the temperature. The hotel is handy for transit, with combis and the metropolitano nearby. It’s a decent basic option for the price and was very clean, though there were still a few stray hairs on the floor. Construction on Benavides was unbearable at 6 a.m., and traffic noise was bad too. The Wi-Fi was okay, but terrible in the evenings or when the hotel was busy. The air conditioning was mediocre, and the bed and pillows were okay but cheap. Breakfast at 53 soles per person was far too expensive.

The staff were very nice and friendly, and the hotel is a few blocks from the center. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of continental and local dishes to choose from. My standard queen room had a comfortable bed, good linen, a roomy bathroom, strong hot water, and windows that opened for ventilation. The hotel restaurant is a little expensive, so I’d suggest the place across the road for good-value chicken and cocktails. The comfort and service were very much Ibis standard. I’d stay here again and again.
