The team really made the stay. They were super friendly, helpful, and professional, and made me feel safe, welcome, and comfortable the whole time. The hotel was clean and very well located too.

There’s a market next door, plenty of good restaurants within walking distance, and walk and bike routes toward the Pacific that are handy for a jog. You can also reach Real Plaza or the Ocean view trail in about 10 minutes on foot. The staff were friendly and breakfast was free, and the hotel is close to several foreign embassies. I got 50% off through Expedia, and overall it was a great stay. I checked in on Sunday, though, and the rooftop bar was closed while the sauna was fully booked. The room next door was under construction, so there was a lot of noise, even early in the morning when I could hear the room cleaners working nearby. I guess the walls aren’t soundproof.

I booked this for New Year’s because of the rooftop, but access needs a separate reservation for some reason, so we couldn’t watch the fireworks from up there. The pool and sauna close 2.5 hours after check-in, and check-in itself takes 45 minutes, which leaves little point in having them. The elevators barely work and seem hazardous. The hotel tries to look fancy but doesn’t deliver.

Diana at reception was exceptionally nice. Breakfast was better than at other hotels in this price range, and the hotel is a good deal. The gym is nothing special, so don’t expect a full workout. For the price and quality, I’d give it 5 stars.
