El Destino Casas y Bungalows Vichayito

The staff were friendly throughout, and the hotel's one big redeeming feature is its position across from a beautiful beach. But the facilities don't match the price. Casa Verde looked neglected and badly in need of maintenance, despite the good reviews that had given me high expectations. The shower broke on the first day, and the faucets were so old that no water came out. On the second day, the water ran out because they hadn't provided enough, so we had to wait for them to fill their tank. There weren't enough umbrellas, and the ones available were very old. I stayed five days, but the place was cleaned only once, our towels were never changed, and by the third day the house looked dirty and uncared for.

The yellow cabin has a lovely look and a spectacular balcony, but it's badly run down. The kitchen was dirty and poorly equipped. Cleanliness was disappointing both inside the cabin and on the beach, and the broken loungers and umbrellas make that beach a disgrace next to the surrounding ones.

It's only steps from the sea, and otherwise everything was excellent. The waiters were attentive, though the receptionist was quite unfriendly. I also wish the palm trees had better lighting at night so they could be seen properly. Still, an excellent weekend spot, highly recommended.

I liked the cozy feel and great location, and the owners were attentive and ready to sort out any problems quickly. I'm giving it four stars because I think it could be better, though I'd definitely come back.
