Kokoa Hotel

The room was comfortable, the beach was clean and peaceful, and the staff were consistently attentive. They even served guests who showed up a little after the kitchen was meant to close. Still, there were a number of small maintenance and cleaning problems. An empty bottle was left behind by the cleaning staff, which might be fine if you wanted to keep it, but not if you expected it to be thrown away. Part of the bathroom wall was crumbling beside the mosquito screen, and there was a small hole in the roof. Termites had eaten part of the door, and on our first night they swarmed, leaving lots of them on the curtains and even in the wardrobe. It also got windier as evening approached.

Pretty and peaceful, with lovely views. I’d ask for a room with a balcony view and mosquito protection for the night. Si limpiaran mejor la piscina durante la tarde, seria un 100 total.

We had a great three-day break here. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and tidy, and the restaurant service was lovely. It was a shame they couldn’t provide room service. During Peru’s cricket plague in the northern cities, crickets got into the rooms. The receptionist and hotel staff gave us things to keep them out, and that worked. It wasn’t a problem they could control, but they did their best to deal with it and made sure we still had a really nice vacation.

The beach is right outside, just a few steps from the room, and there’s a big pool too. The location is great. Our room was lovely, clean, and cozy when we traveled with my partner near the end of August. Breakfast was a real letdown: they brought scrambled eggs, but the serving looked like it was meant for one person. I was so surprised for a hotel at this price that I wish I’d taken a photo. I work online, and the Wi-Fi was terrible in the room and still bad by the pool. If you need a reliable connection for online work, this hotel isn’t a good choice.
