Sumaq Machu Picchu

The sound of the river running past the hotel made the best sleep I’ve had in ages even better. The beds and pillows were wonderful, the food was mouthwatering and beautifully presented, and the location at the end of the row of other hotels was beautiful. But what made the stay special was the staff. Everyone, from reception and the bar to the waiters, cleaning team, and manager, was humble, smiling, and always willing to help. It was always “ofcourse,” never “no.” When we arrived, a staff member showed us around the room and explained how everything worked. They even cleaned our shoes at no extra cost and had them ready the next morning before we went out to explore this spiritual, incredible town. WOW, I can hardly describe how incredible and peaceful this hotel felt. I’ve stayed at five-star hotels in many countries, and this was by far the best. Sumaq made our trip to Machu Picchu magical. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I hope to return someday, and I’ll definitely stay at Sumaq hotel again. With all my love, see you soon.

The drinks tasted great, and the setting was amazing, maybe the best atmosphere in town. I ordered a “Cocoa,” and they served it in an actual cocoa pod, which made the whole experience special. Thanks to Faustino for recommending and preparing it for us. It was tasty and unique, and I’d definitely recommend it.

The staff were fantastic, and I loved that the servers could tell us about the food and drinks. The food itself was incredible. We even got a demonstration of how to make pisco sours and civichi. I’d recommend this wonderful place to anyone and hope I can come back.

Lunch was fantastic, and the service was great. They were happy to adjust dishes to suit us, and the views of the sacred river were beautiful.
