Hospedaje Posada Guadalupe

The price was good, and I liked the owners and the room. But after that night I noticed what looked like bed bug bites on my hands and neck. They hadn’t been there before. We stayed in room number 5.

It’s basic accommodation at a basic price, and that’s just right for what it is.

We got in early, and since the room was free, the owner let us check in straight away. The place was clean, and when he was around he was helpful and willing to assist. It’s a simple guesthouse that’s good value, just 1.5 blocks from Cruz del Sur and other bus companies. Breakfast costs 7 soles extra. We didn’t get to try it because the owner wasn’t there to prepare it the morning we stayed. There were washing machines on site, but I didn’t ask whether laundry service was available or how it worked. There’s also a really cute, affectionate cat.

The staff were happy to help me plan tours, including scenic flights and visits to viewpoints and the museum. They even picked me up at the bus terminal, which is close by. It’s a pleasant inn for a night before continuing your journey, with clean rooms, a clean bathroom, and the basics. Some parts looked neglected, though, and there isn’t much common space to relax in.
