We ate at the restaurant a couple of times for dinner and three times for breakfast, and both the food and service were very good. The front desk staff and cleaning ladies were extremely helpful and kind. Our room stayed very quiet despite the busy street nearby. The location worked perfectly for the 10th Anniversary of the Pacasmayo Marathon: the hotel is just across from the bus station and two blocks from the marathon’s start and finish line. We stayed three nights. If you’re coming for next year’s Pacasmayo Marathon or just need to stay overnight in Pacasmayo any time of year, you’ll enjoy The El Puerto. I highly recommend it!

The same young woman covers reception and the Minimarket at the gas station, so when you have a question or an urgent need, she may not be there. My room faced the gas station, and even with every window shut, there was tremendous noise from it all night that kept me from sleeping.

The rooms are clean and roomy, and the atmosphere is nice. Breakfast is very basic, though, and could use more variety instead of the same old thing.

There’s no pool, and the American breakfast they include tastes just average. At night, the receptionist is almost never around, so finding her can take a long time and you end up having to carry your key everywhere. It’s at a gas station, with a shop very close by. The place is nice and very clean, with good water pressure, hot water, air conditioning, and an empty mini-fridge for whatever you want to put in it.

The hotel’s restaurant and café are on the first floor. Service was good, and the room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. It’s also in a great location.
