The ride on the Peruvian Paso horses was a highlight. Their unusual gait made for a smooth ride, though the horses were very strong. We went out with two volunteers, and I loved the experience. Andrea welcomed us warmly, and the whole place felt relaxed. There were lots of rescued dogs and chickens roaming around, and you can see how much they care about horses and animals. I visited for a day and absolutely loved it. I’d definitely return and recommend it to anyone in Chiclayo.

We stayed at Rancho Santana for two nights, and it’s a lovely farm with well cared for horses, cows, dogs, cats, and chickens. You can see how passionate and well equipped they are. They also went out of their way to arrange the particular ride we wanted, and gave us much more than we expected. The horse riding was incredible, but so was visiting the world's largest dry forest and its pyramids of Lord of Sican from before the incas. Our guide told us a lot about Peruvian culture and nature. It was a wonderful experience, and we can highly recommend a visit.

The four hour ride to the pre inca temples was beautiful. They’re in the world's largest dry forest, and riding those smooth, willing horses through the scenery was a joy. We learned a lot about Peruvian Culture and History, too. Rancho Santana was also a perfect place to relax and have fun with the cats and dogs. We highly recommend it.

We felt very welcome here, and Andrea also speaks German. It’s a safe, quiet place to spend the night with a camper, with water available and lots of animals around. Definitely recommended for overlanders.

We felt comfortable throughout our eight days at the ranch. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and we got to sample plenty of local food and experience the culture firsthand. Andrea took us to several museums and explained things in German as well. Manuel showed us beautiful places on horseback and explained them along the way.
