Hostal Los Frayles

The Wi-Fi worked reliably, and I especially liked being able to work remotely from the restaurant area. Breakfast was basic but tasty, and every staff member we met was incredibly friendly. The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable. There weren’t many extra facilities, but it had what we needed for a pleasant short stay. A very good experience.

It feels more like a hotel than a hostal, and the price is really good for what you get. The bed was comfy, the staff were nice, and although the rooms get hot, there’s a great big fan. The only downside was breakfast: it starts at 7, but nothing was ready when we went down then. Our tour pickup was at 7:20, so we missed it.

The pickup point for Perubus is right next door, which is handy. We also rode bikes through the national park and really enjoyed it. We booked this as our second choice, but ended up being very happy with it. We had a sea-view room for two nights, and I’d recommend getting one. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was cleaned during our stay, and the shower was amazing. Breakfast was simple and really nice, with another great view. Totally worth every cent. I’d go back.

Breakfast on the top floor was the highlight, with a view over the sea. It was delicious, well served, and substantial. Coffee, tea, sauces, and other condiments were there for guests to help themselves. Our room was very clean, though the basic ones have an interior window facing the hallway. There wasn’t much storage, so most of our things ended up on the floor. The thin walls were the bigger problem: we could hear echoes from other rooms loudly, and one group was noisy late at night and early in the morning, disturbing our sleep. Service was fair. Most of the staff were friendly but not especially proactive. The man on the morning shift seemed annoyed all the time. When we asked him to open the storage room so we could put our bags in and collect them after checkout, he had an unpleasant manner and ignored basic politeness.
