It’s a quiet hostel right across from the beach, with a lovely rooftop terrace, surfboard storage, and a kitchen guests can use. Rooms are clean, and you can ask for hot water, towels, and extra sheets. The restaurant serves really nice food, and they sell the best cookies in town for just 1 sol. The owner is kind, helpful, and speaks English. Private taxis can easily pick you up at the back to take you to Trujillo airport. Surfboard rentals, groceries, and food are only a block away.

Brian, the owner, speaks English and runs the hostel and restaurant. He’s great, with useful tips on surfing and renting equipment. His burritos are among the best food in town, and it’s the only place where I found vegetarian options. The hostel is affordable and right by the beach, with views over the water, though not of the main Chicama surf break. That viewpoint is just a two-minute walk away. The rooms are simple but good, and the showers are hot.

Brian is a wonderful host and can help with all the information you need about town. It’s a simple place with everything you need to rest, cook, and relax, and a perfect base for surfing and enjoying the beach. Highly recommend!

The restaurant has delicious food and probably the best cookies in Peru, and the rooftop terrace is lovely. Bryan, the owner, is clearly made for the job. He’s always there for guests and helps however he can. The staff are lovely and helpful too. It’s a charming little hostel right on the beach. I’d totally recommend it and come back!
