The setting is the main drawback: there aren't any nice restaurants or cafes nearby, and the area, including the plaza, feels rather rundown. The hotel itself is a lovely little three-star gem. The staff are great, cleanliness clearly comes first, the rooms are good, and breakfast is fine in a lovely room. The cafe beside it is really awesome.

We stayed at Copasu hotel on a work trip. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with air conditioning, and the hot shower had strong water pressure. Everyone on staff was friendly, and breakfast had a good variety and was really good. The hotel is not far from the main square. I'd definitely recommend staying here in Puerto Maldonado.

Breakfast had lots of good choices, the room was very clean, and the staff were kind and went out of their way to help. I checked in late, and they had my laundry done that night. The women working there were so welcoming and sweet, and the hotel has air conditioning too. This isn't the Hilton, and standards vary from country to country, so people should be reasonable about expectations. Compared with the other hotels around, I'd call it a five-star place and would recommend it.
