Posada Amazonas Hotel

The lodge had a great feel, but the hospitality made the stay truly first class. Edssom was especially attentive and friendly, and even prepared several meals just for us as vegetarians. Josmel was a fantastic tour guide, too, and knew so much.

I wish we'd been able to spend more time at Posadas Amazonas. Everyone was professional and very helpful, and the stay was memorable. The one thing we'd change is the room assignment. Families with young children were next door every night and were very loud in the evenings, when we needed to sleep early before the next day's activities.

The staff worked hard and took care of everyone's needs. Our guides Luis and Oscar were patient with our large group and knew their stuff. The manager and chef, Cesar, was amazing as well. We asked for vegetarian meals, and he accommodated everything, even letting a family member customize food for our group. We were a group of 25 and had a fabulous time. The resort reflected the Amazon forest and Peruvian culture, making for an amazing stay.

The lodge food was amazing, the open-room setup was really cool, and the company's research and conservation work seems clearly genuine. But my guide was repeatedly patronising and condescending toward me as a solo female traveller. He kept entering my personal space, correcting my Spanish in a belittling way, and making dismissive comments. His wildlife spotting was excellent, but because of how he treated me, I can't recommend this tour to other female travellers. I hate leaving a negative review when the company as a whole seems incredible.
