Refugio Amazonas Hotel

We spent our days spotting macaws at the clay lick and taking in a 360° view of the Amazon from the observation tower. Waking up to howler monkeys was unforgettable, and there were plenty of other activities too. Dennys, our guide, made it all feel even more meaningful. He was knowledgeable and professional, but also friendly and accommodating. The staff managed to pair real personal care with a high level of professionalism, which you don't come across often. If connecting with nature is what you're after, this is the place. Thank you for a stay we'll remember, and I hope we can come back one day.

Juan-Carlos made a huge difference to our stay. He knew so much, went out of his way to help us get the most from the experience, and was kind and considerate toward everyone in the group, whatever their mobility or anxieties. We saw a lot of wildlife that we would have missed without him. The bar is lovely too, with the best pisco sour in Peru. I had an amazing time here and would recommend it to anyone.

The internet was surprisingly good, even on the way to the lodge, and the electricity stayed steady. Having Starlink connectivity in the middle of the jungle is something special. Housekeeping also kept everything in great shape without ever being in the way. The guide worked hard to make each excursion memorable, and the kitchen brought plenty of variety, including Peruvian dishes that felt like a little gastronomic journey. From reception and the bar to the boat driver, people were warm and seemed happy to have us. You can feel how each person contributes to the eco-tourism service here. What stood out most was how much they cared about making our stay comfortable. That kind of service in the wild takes real effort, and it shows. My family and I got a lot out of this experience, and I'm grateful for all the emotions and memories. Go enjoy the nature and the service, it's something you'll remember for a lifetime.
