The staff were wonderful, and the views from the location are beautiful. It's also pretty quiet, though it's far from the center and the view is about the only thing going for the location. Trains only run on certain days. The buffet breakfast was good. The hotel itself is nice, but I'm not sure it merits four stars, though that rating can mean different things. The rooms are worn and the carpet needs replacing. I liked having slippers and robes, since apparently not every four-star place offers them. I think each room has a balcony. Hotels in Peru seem to keep rooms warm, so I had to leave the balcony door open at night.

The neighborhood is isolated and under construction right now, and getting into town costs S/15. A garden-view room actually looks out onto the road, so you get quite a bit of noise from cars and dogs. The pier view is beautiful, the staff are really kind, and the hotel is nice. Breakfast and dinner were both good.

The lakefront views are fantastic, although the hotel isn't really close enough to town to walk there. Taxis are quick and reasonably priced. Service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and efficient.

The scenery is lovely, and there's a beautiful walking dock or pier. The rooms, like the ones in Lima, feel old and run down, so this clearly isn't a premium hotel. More like an aging Holiday Inn or motel 6.

The grounds are lovely and service was great. Nights get pretty cold, though, and one small portable heater doesn't do much to warm the room. Being a bit out of the way meant we had no other food options and ate at the hotel both nights. Luckily, the food was actually pretty good. The staff were friendly and attentive.
