The owner is a lovely woman and really helpful with tourist questions. It's a bit outside the center, but a taxi into town should only cost S/.7 Sol. There aren't any bottle shops nearby, so pick up wine or beer before settling in for the night. The hotel has quite a few things for sale, and you can book tourist trips at reception.

My friend and I had a great stay. The atmosphere was friendly and family-like, and we could camp in the little yard out back. They also let us leave our car in their secure parking area for a couple of nights. The bathroom was basic but clean.

For a two-star hotel, it's really nice. The rooms are a little bigger than most I've seen in Puno, and there's hot water around the clock, cable TV and a continental breakfast. The staff were kind and helpful.

Juan, the owner, made our stay feel special. We pitched our tent in the hotel garden for one night and had water, electricity, toilets and a hot shower, all for just 5 sol. Great place!

For a better room in Puno, you might have to pay at least five times more, and the service still may not be as good. They did a lot to make us comfortable, including letting us use bicycles and a karaoke room for free, and helped us in plenty of other ways. This could be the best budget hotel in town. I'd recommend it if you're staying in Puno.
