The rooms were beautifully furnished, and sharing home-cooked meals with our lovely hosts under a starry sky was a lot of fun. We had a unique stay, though there are a few things to know. The place is in a community among the shallow reeds by the shore, not out on the big lake. We wanted to see the lake, but were told it takes over an hour by large tour boat to get there. The toilets are organic, the water pressure is poor, and hot water is limited. We didn't mind, since we knew what kind of experience we had signed up for, but it's not a Hilton. Transport costs extra and there isn't another option. There's also a charge to see the community and for dinner. The community now depends on tourism, so rather than seeing fishing and farming in action, we were taken through a demonstration and then pressured to buy things.

We got to the hotel well before check-in after they picked us up by boat at the agreed time, and they still gave us our room very early, which we really appreciated. The staff were happy to take us by boat wherever we wanted to explore. Wilbur was especially kind. When we mentioned that we were school teachers back home, he took us to see the school on the floating islands. Those little gestures made the stay feel one of a kind. The room was spectacular, much nicer than I expected, with lots of space, a private deck, and a day bed. Reading in the afternoon sun and watching the sunset from there was so relaxing. We also loved the hot water bottles they brought to warm our feet at night, and were surprised to have hot water in the middle of a floating lake. The sky-dome roof made falling asleep under the stars special. Communication was excellent from start to finish. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for everything!

DON’T STAY HERE! I just left and am writing this from Puno. As of 6-19-24, there’s active construction right next door, which nobody mentioned. I expected somewhere peaceful, but loud music and construction made that impossible. The couple are nice, but the service is terrible for the price. A couple who arrived late had only one blanket, were too cold to sleep, and left at sunrise. The woman said breakfast would be at 730, but when we asked at 745, she said it was too cold. Why offer breakfast and agree on a time if you won’t do it? The composting toilet smelled like a sewer, and our shower didn’t work.

Delia, Wilber, Josue, and the whole family are lovely. They put amazing attention into the details of everything they do. This is such a beautiful, peaceful place, and I definitely recommend it 1000%.

Delia's cooking was fantastic, and Wilbert took us with such care to the land of the Uros. They helped us discover their culture and traditions with real sensitivity and passion. Wilbert and Delia welcomed us warmly, with smiles and wonderful hospitality, and made us feel part of their close-knit family. Angi's happiness and smiles touched our hearts too. An unforgettable stay. They're extraordinary people, and we recommend them 100%!
