Luisfer Surf Camp in Punta Hermosa has a really good, relaxed vibe, and it felt super safe. There were lots of nearly pro surfers around, mostly from Brazil but also from all over. We saw some wild big wave surfing, and Pico Alto is within walking distance. The owner is a local, one of the big wave surfing and jet ski towing pioneers around here, and maybe a legend on the continent. It's right above the beach, and rooms on the second floor have ocean views. The hostel is spacious, clean, full of plants, and has a nice garden. There are two pools, including an Olympic pool, plus a fitness area, kitchen, BBQ, and hot showers. The wifi was superb, with my download speed at 7.5 Mb/s. It's set up as a surf hostel, but we stayed nearly 3 weeks in our campervan in the huge parking lot. The entrance gate is at least 2.7m high. There are plenty of surf spots within walking distance, big and small, and even more breaks with different wave sizes less than an hour's drive away. In my opinion, there's good surfing for every level. Flavia, the owner, is super nice, speaks fluent English, and is always around if you need something. Her WhatsApp is +51 981 304 056.
