Estelar San Isidro

Maria was a lovely host at the restaurant, and the staff throughout the hotel were friendly and professional. We arrived hours before check-in, so they looked after our luggage while we walked around San Isidro and had lunch. Our room had two twin beds, was clean and neatly arranged, and had the usual hotel essentials. The Wi-Fi was good, the fridge had soft drinks and beers, and breakfast was included and pretty good. The nightly rate was very reasonable, and the area has plenty of restaurants and cafes. A great value in a good part of Lima. I'd happily stay again.

We won't return or recommend this hotel. When we arrived early in the morning, the bathroom smelled like a drain and the whole room stank. They moved us to another room, which was better. We then traveled inland after making a reservation four days ahead for five nights. When we got back late at night, Rodolfo told us there was no room for the dates we'd booked, even though they'd printed our passports twice. They gave us just one night, leaving us to find another hotel in the early morning. It felt like they were kicking us out. While we were checking out, the manager asked whether we'd found a hotel, and only then offered us a better price if we came back after two days. I don't know if that's how they normally operate, but we're sure we won't go back.

I only stayed one night, but everything was great. The room was spacious and clean, the staff were super friendly, and the food was good. There weren't many food choices, which was the only small drawback. If I return to Peru, I'll definitely stay here again.

The dining area has a great range of food, as you'd expect in Lima, though there's no separate bar. There's a small lounge and a little outdoor space for smokers. It's a nice small hotel in San Isidro, about a five-minute walk from the main shopping streets. The staff are welcoming and can help with the usual things, like getting around the city or reaching the airport. They speak good English too.
