The place is tranquil and in a fantastic location, but we had a very disappointing experience. We left money in a bag in our locked room while we visited Cocalmayo hot springs. Staff helped us book a tuktuk, and when we came back, the money was gone. I recommend the owner replace the staff before this happens again and seriously damages the lodge’s reputation.

The river below the lodge helped me fall asleep quickly. It’s a really cozy, unique place, with a great shower, a comfortable bed, and a yummy breakfast. The best restaurants are just around the corner.

Enrique was helpful and knew a lot about local attractions, and the mattress was great. Meals are tasty, though a bit expensive. There’s a lovely outdoor dining and bar area with a view. Bring insect repellent, since it can get pretty buggy in the jungle.

We loved this place enough to extend our stay. The river is stunning, and its sound lulls you to sleep. Food was incredible, from banana pancakes with honey at breakfast to lovely three-course dinners. They also put out complimentary fruit, water, and tea, help arrange cabs, and leave bananas in the garden to attract beautiful local birds. It was just the retreat we needed after the busy towns we’d visited. Absolutely loved it!
