Hostal Mansion Dorada

We had a very bad stay. The rooms were hot, and the bathrooms were filthy, with small traces of feces on the walls, a dirty mirror and a broken toilet seat. Some electrical outlets didn't work, either. The receptionist was rude and unpleasant, got annoyed at our requests and wasn't helpful. The young staff were very friendly, though, and we appreciated them storing our bags, even if they seemed reluctant to do it. We booked through Booking.com for nine people and ended up paying 60 soles more. If you still want to stay, I'd suggest contacting the hotel directly. I don't recommend the place.

There was a very noisy family across the hall, shouting from the second or third floor below. They kept it up all night, but staff didn't tell them to stop. My room was also below standard and had a wet bathroom when I arrived, apparently because of a leak. I could hear what I think was a washing machine running, too.

The only good thing was how friendly the owner's son was. The place was very dirty, noisy and nothing like the photos, and the owner was unfriendly. They made me uncomfortable the whole time. You have to ask them to take out the trash and replace the toilet paper, since they can't provide good service. If you bring a child under 3, they charge for breakfast because, according to the owner, “they don't eat.”

The service was excellent, and I appreciated how clean the place was. The rooms were only in fair condition, though. I had to move because the shower in my first room didn't work; in the next one, the faucets were faulty and the shower window was broken. Breakfast was adequate, but there wasn't much variety. I think a slightly lower price to match the rooms' condition could bring in more customers.
