Retama Hotel

The place was comfortable and clean, and close to the town center. Service was great.

So quiet, and the bed was huge and really comfortable.

Breakfast was the one nice part of our stay. We picked a street-facing room, but bright signs outside, including a large lit sign, shone into it all night. The curtains didn’t block the light, and we couldn’t sleep, so we moved to another hotel the next day. The room was a bit cold and only somewhat comfortable, and the hotel was very far away.

The breakfast was excellent, with lots of tasty variety, and having it included makes sense since everything in Tacna is expensive now. We spent much more at the market outside. The receptionists were friendly and gave us useful directions about where to go and which bus to take. The hotel is very centrally located but tucked into a quiet alley, so we slept peacefully. Of all the places I saw, this was my favorite, even though it was pricey. We stayed two nights. The towels were quite worn, and the facilities were much nicer seven years ago. Still, I highly recommend it.
