Hotel Nilas

We enjoyed our stay in Peru and would come back. The pool was great, the staff were nice, and being able to walk to the square was really convenient. One day the AC broke while we were out, and we returned to a hot room with water all over the floor. It was fixed the next day, but nobody came to clean up the flooding. With our large group, the restaurant also seemed unprepared and sometimes had little or no food left. Even so, it was a good place to stay.

The hotel has a small pool and sits near the main square, churches, and restaurants. It was also one of the few mid-range places I found in Peru with properly sized double beds, meaning king beds, but those were only in the most expensive rooms without a view. Breakfast is included, but felt like a token offering. The yogurt came in a tiny dose in a can meant for coffee essence, like the one pictured. They served us just one roll, and as a couple we had to insist on getting a second plain white one. Even with the fruit, the portions felt stingy. Plan to get a proper breakfast outside.

The rooftop bar and pool were highlights, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. It's a clean, pleasant hotel only a few meters from Plaza de armas. The rooms are a good size, with comfortable beds, quiet AC, and hot water. Breakfast was fine.

Jorge, the hotel manager, made me feel looked after from start to finish. He was incredibly kind and friendly, helped me at every step, and showed real concern for my well-being. By the time I left, he felt like family. As an American woman traveling alone with limited Spanish, I was grateful for that experience. The hotel is a perfect location, just a two-minute walk from the town square. My room was lovely and clean, and after a week in the jungle, the AC saved my life. The breakfast was delicious with fresh juices, and lunch and dinner were fairly priced. I'd absolutely stay again. Thank you, Jorge!
