We had an incredible family vacation at Sueño Tropical in Tarapoto. The pool was a lovely place to relax, and the hotel had everything we needed for a dream stay. It’s locally owned, which made it nice to know we were supporting the community. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of fresh regional fruit that we couldn't get enough of. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly and helpful that we felt right at home. I can't recommend it enough!

The noise was the worst part. Sound echoes through the hotel, so you hear other guests outside their rooms, people standing by other guests' doors, children shouting, and splashing in the pool. You can hear the street too, and motorcycles go all day and all night, so sleeping is hard. The location is excellent, close to everything. Breakfast is included, with juice, coffee, bread, and daily options like chaufa and tamales. The pool is very nice and open until 11 pm, and the air conditioning helps a lot in the heat. But for a hotel, I expected hot water, and it didn't work. There was no water pressure, no shampoo, and just one towel for two people. The air conditioning in the main bedroom also leaked.

For the price, the rooms are very nice, and the pool is included. You can swim until 11 pm. I didn't like that there was no phone in the room, especially as it's advertised as a two-star hotel. There was no room service on Sunday either. Still, compared with other hotels that are terrible, this one is very good and great value for money.
