Palm Hotel

I asked a friend who lives in the city to check this place out after I found it on google, and I’m glad I did. It’s only 1.5 block from the centro, so it’s convenient for getting around. The family running it is humble and treated me like family. The hotel is modern and very clean, and the staff are kind and accommodating. The rooftop patio was my favorite. There’s a restaurant and bar up there, and you can eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner with a nice mountain view. I don’t know of another hotel in Tarapoto with a rooftop restaurant. Lunch and dinner are reasonably priced, breakfast is included, and there are great breakfast options. I’ll definitely go back!

Really liked it. The place was clean and secure, the staff were great, and breakfast was good. It’s near the main plaza and the main nightlife spots.

The room was very clean and tidy, and the central location is great, though it gets a bit noisy. For the price, the stay was reasonable. Still, the small sink was awkward to use and splashed water easily, and there was no water or kettle in the room. The Wi-Fi was so weak I couldn’t use it. The most frustrating part was coming back from the heat to find the air conditioner and refrigerator had switched off while I was out. Especially the fridge, my beer was already warm. Breakfast wasn’t a buffet, so there wasn’t a wide range to try, but I enjoyed that some local foods were available.

The mattress was comfortable and the rooms were very clean, and the location is excellent. The reception service let us down, though. The staff seemed lazy, weren’t friendly, and didn’t want to bring anything to the room. They said breakfast was a buffet, but it really wasn’t. When we arrived there was no juice or yogurt, and the bread was a day old. The scrambled eggs were okay, but the breakfast left a lot to be desired. I don’t understand how they don’t have a budget for things that matter this much.
