What a nasty surprise on my last day in Trujillo. They call it a 3-star HOTEL on Facebook, but it’s a hostel across from a market. The place smelled bad, looked bad, and everything was old and in poor condition. Their social media photos show modern, clean rooms with everything brand new, nothing like what I found. Be careful and don’t be fooled. I’m including photos as proof. I forgot to photograph the meter of toilet paper they give you in a plastic bag for one day, along with a 5-centimeter bar of soap.

I wouldn’t recommend it. This is a backpackers’ hostel, and to me it’s worth 30 soles, not the price they charge. It was dirty, with a filthy bathroom and dusty hallways. The surrounding area felt very dangerous, with many thugs walking around.

I booked through Booking for the national holidays, but it wasn’t a pleasant stay. The room and duvet were noticeably unclean. There was no hot water, and in the end, no water at all.
